AMD “Trinity” APU Models Release Schedule Details Leaked

In a recently leaked roadmap on AMD’s desktop product lineup in 2012, Trinity is set for the second quarter 2012.

Based on leaked slides coming from Turkish website DonanimHaber, AMD will launch its next-generation accelerated processing unit, codenamed Trinity, in second quarter 2012. The Trinity will start with its quad-core A10 and A8 processors in the second quarter then followed by dual-core A6 and A4 processors in the third-quarter of 2012.

The A10 lineup consists of quad-core APUs that come with Radeon HD 7660D graphics.

Attacks on Android Devices Intensify

A recent rise in Android malware—combined with increased efforts to combat the threat—highlight the fact that, just like tech companies, app makers, and users, hackers are fast turning their attention to mobile devices. Mark Hurd attempts to block letter from Fisher from becoming public

The year may be winding down, but the Mark Hurd/Jodie Fisher train keeps chugging along.  Hurd has just asked to become a party in a lawsuit by a Delaware shareholder, Ernesto Espinoza, who has sued HP to inspect its books.  The letter, which Hurd thinks should be confidential, was sent to him on behalf of Fisher by her lawyer, Gloria Allred, and Fisher later claimed it contained “many inaccuracies.”  If the letter becomes public, it means we might finally get a glimpse of what the actual allegations from Fisher were, but something tells us there’s a few lengthy rounds of litigation still to go before we ought to get our hopes up.

AMD to offer cheap Intel Ultrabook alternative

Ultrabooks are set to make a big splash in 2012, the thin but powerful form factor clearly a huge advantage for those who need to remain portable. The one snag is the expense, however it has been suggested that AMD is looking to produce a powerful and light cheaper alternative that will launch this year in direct competition to Intel’s Ultrabook.

According to a Digitimes report, the new super-light laptop from AMD will carry its new Trinity APU, as opposed to Ultrabooks which carry Intel’s hardware.

Gigabyte Booktop T1132 Tablet PC

Gigabyte has added a new Tablet PC to its Booktop line, the 11.6-inch T1132. It features a convertible design and it also comes with the optional rotating docking station. The new T1132 Tablet PC has the ability to let you convert it into a desktop PC, it is equipped with a 11.6-inch capacitive multitouch display with LED backlight and a 1366768 resolution.

Under the hood, there is an Intel Core i5-2467M processor, an integrated HD 3000 graphics card or an optional 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT520M dedicated graphics card with NVIDIA Optimus Technology, and it comes with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM.
