Screenshots allegedly of the forthcoming Windows Phone ‘Tango’ update have appeared online.

The images, which hint at a number of new features including the ability to add multiple attachments to a message and support the lower minimum hardware requirement rumours, were posted online by Russian website WP7forum, WMPoweruser reported.

We’ve reported before about Tango lowering the requirements and it seems that’s still very much the case.

GlitchSoft’s original side-scroller takes strong cues from hardcore shooter classics, serving up a loving homage to Contra III with similar mechanics, weapons, and music, plus monstrous bosses that take multiple drubbings to defeat. Star Marine makes a couple adjustments to the typically tough formula, letting you use items to escape death or refill your health, but the biggest change comes from one very modern twist: an awful insistence on microtransactions.

Unlike its inspiration, kills in Star Marine are tallied by a timed combo meter, with faster enemy death tallies yielding more points; these in turn are used to collect the in-game currency, called gems.

HTC Evo 3D hits the bargain bucket at Asda

Has the bottom fallen out of the 3D smartphone boom? Supermarket Asda certainly thinks so as it is offering one of last year’s superphones, the HTC Evo 3D, for under 250.

“It’s a blockbuster phone at an amazingly low price,” said James McMurrough, Asda’s mobile phone expert. “We’re constantly amazed at the features that are being built into the latest phones – and it’s incredible to think that one of the latest Hollywood techniques is now available at such a low price.”

We think that’s a nice way of saying: “We don’t think anyone really cares if their smartphone has 3D capabilities so we’re going to have to smash the price if we’re to shift all the units we’ve got out the back”. Althoug

Sexy? Yes. Functional? Maybe Not.

Greentech Media broke the Nest thermostat story in June, much to the chagrin of the once-stealthy company and its lawyers.

Nest builds thermostats — beautiful, smart and expensive thermostats. Nest CEO Tony Fadell, an ex-Apple alum, thought something better could be done in the thermostat space and users could have a better experience than that provided by the “Honeywell Round.”

Nest officially unveiled its product in a tightly controlled manner, as befits its Apple roots, in October.
