LightSquared Gets Square Rooted – 4G LTE Network Killed by FCC

LightSquared was just dealt a death blow by the FCC due to concerns of interference, mainly with regards to GPS products:

“LightSquared’s proposal to provide ground-based mobile service offered the potential to unleash new spectrum for mobile broadband and enhance competition. The Commission clearly stated from the outset that harmful interference to GPS would not be permitted. This is why the Conditional Waiver Order issued by the Commission’s International Bureau prohibited LightSquared from beginning commercial operations unless harmful interference issues were resolved.

AMD “Trinity” APU Models Release Schedule Details Leaked

In a recently leaked roadmap on AMD’s desktop product lineup in 2012, Trinity is set for the second quarter 2012.

Based on leaked slides coming from Turkish website DonanimHaber, AMD will launch its next-generation accelerated processing unit, codenamed Trinity, in second quarter 2012. The Trinity will start with its quad-core A10 and A8 processors in the second quarter then followed by dual-core A6 and A4 processors in the third-quarter of 2012.

The A10 lineup consists of quad-core APUs that come with Radeon HD 7660D graphics.

e-Shakti empowers rural households in Bihar

The Rural Development Department of Government of Bihar was facing challenges in identifying eligible beneficiaries of NREGA scheme. As a result, there was a huge gap between money disbursed by government and money received by a beneficiary.

Thus, Glodyne partnered with the government for implementing and managing the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme project in Bihar, called e-Shakti. This is a five year BOOT project, which has the potential not only to generate more employment directly and indirectly, but also to transform rural economic and social relations at many levels.

Windows Phone Tango screenshots leaked

Screenshots allegedly of the forthcoming Windows Phone ‘Tango’ update have appeared online.

The images, which hint at a number of new features including the ability to add multiple attachments to a message and support the lower minimum hardware requirement rumours, were posted online by Russian website WP7forum, WMPoweruser reported.

We’ve reported before about Tango lowering the requirements and it seems that’s still very much the case.
