AMD to offer cheap Intel Ultrabook alternative

Ultrabooks are set to make a big splash in 2012, the thin but powerful form factor clearly a huge advantage for those who need to remain portable. The one snag is the expense, however it has been suggested that AMD is looking to produce a powerful and light cheaper alternative that will launch this year in direct competition to Intel’s Ultrabook.

According to a Digitimes report, the new super-light laptop from AMD will carry its new Trinity APU, as opposed to Ultrabooks which carry Intel’s hardware.

HP Launches The Folio 13 Ultrabook

Hewlett Packard (HP) will be launching a new ultrabook style laptop in early December aimed at the consumer market; it is a 13.3 inch thin and light machine with a wide range of features as well as the option to upgrade processors etc. However, early next year a business version will be launched, this will be much the same as the consumer model, but with the Windows 7 Professional operating system, an embedded security chip and the better warranty choices.

So let’s see what the Folio 13 Ultrabook has to offer, first of all there is the neat 13.3 inch high definition Bright View display with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and a built in HP True Vision HD Web camera. T
